Words cannot express my gratitude for God’s plan of happiness and for family relationships that can continue beyond this life into the eternities. Susan is a virtuous mother, wife, and disciple of Jesus Christ. Our family is blessed daily by her influence for good. #MothersDay
Our hearts are changed by the truths we learn in the temple about God and Jesus Christ—and by the promises we make to love and serve. We focus less on what we want and more on aligning our will with God’s. #DCTemple
I have enjoyed speaking with media today about what members of the @Ch_JesusChrist believe. Simply put, we worship and follow Jesus Christ. We look to His example to teach us who we should become. His temples help us be more like Him. #DCTemple
We were pleased to also be joined this morning by Maryland Governor @GovLarryHogan. We are grateful for his partnership and support.
I was honored to welcome members of the media to tour the Washington D.C. Temple of the @Ch_JesusChrist this morning. It is always a pleasure to invite individuals to learn of God's plan, the redeeming power of Jesus Christ, and the role of the temple in this plan. #DCTemple
“I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live” (John 11:25).
We are conducting an open house of the Washington D.C. Temple and welcoming guests to come and learn about this holy place. We had a conversation with @edokeefe from @CBSSunday focused on how temples help us learn about Our Redeemer, Jesus Christ. #DCTemple
Faith focused in and on the Lord Jesus Christ fortifies us with spiritual strength, increasing our capacity to “heed not” the many distractions, taunts, and diversions in our fallen world. #GeneralConference
Receiving, remembering, and honoring our covenants and ordinances enables the power of godliness to come into our lives, strengthens us to press forward and overcome the various obstructions we encounter on the covenant path, and enlarges our capacity to bless other people.
I invite you to read a new digital pamphlet about how Latter-day Saints and Muslims can better understand one another in open, honest, and authentic ways. churchofjesuschrist.org/study/manual/m…
As Latter-day Saints, we consider all humankind as brothers and sisters. Jesus Christ teaches that the two great commandments are to love God and love one another.

As Latter-day Saints, we consider all humankind as brothers and sisters. Jesus Christ teaches that the two great commandments are to love God and love one another.
Binding ourselves to Jesus Christ through covenants and ordinances can heal the wounds caused by another person’s unrighteous exercise of moral agency and enable us to find the capacity to forgive and receive peace, mercy, and love.
“Lift up your head and be of good cheer; for behold . . . on the morrow come I into the world” (3 Nephi 1:13).
Jesus Christ invites us to look to Him, come unto Him, learn of Him, and bind ourselves to Him through the covenants and ordinances of His restored gospel.
We are bound securely to and with the Savior as we faithfully remember and do our best to live in accordance with the obligations we have accepted. And that bond with Him is the source of spiritual strength in every season of our lives. #GeneralConference
There is not anything you and I can ever experience that Jesus Christ does not understand. Christ can succor us and help us receive answers, because only He has the absolute, complete, and perfect knowledge of what we are experiencing.
The Atonement of Jesus Christ can cleanse, strengthen, and transform us. May we all strive to receive His strength by asking, seeking, knocking, and doing our best to improve, repent, and honor our covenants.
We were delighted to welcome Sudanese officials to Salt Lake City this week. As we take time to listen to and learn from one another, such visits become remarkable learning opportunities that enable us to foster understanding and peace.
With all the energy of my soul, I invite all of us to learn, live, and love principles of righteousness. I know that the doctrine and principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ are the foundational sources of direction for our lives and of enduring joy in mortality and eternity.
A gospel principle is a doctrinally based guideline for the righteous exercise of moral agency. What gospel principle did you learn about in #GeneralConference that you will continue to study in the coming weeks and months?

Thank you, President @NelsonRussellM. We look forward to this phase and every phase of temple reopening with great anticipation. twitter.com/NelsonRussellM…
I invite you to not only know about the Lord Jesus Christ but also come to know Him and seek through the power of His Atonement to become like Him.
At @RootsTechConf, we discussed that what we know about the Savior’s gospel should be reflected in what we do and ultimately become. What will you now go and do?
The @RootsTechConf Connect 2021 leadership instruction is quite different from years past. I hope you will watch and be enriched through this experience. It will help you see the importance of this eternal work. Please click here to learn more.
Opportunities to serve others in meaningful ways, as we have covenanted to do, rarely come at convenient times. But there is no spiritual power in living by convenience. The power comes as we keep our covenants.
We are blessed to live and serve in a most remarkable season of the dispensation of the fulness of times. I testify that no unhallowed hand and no pandemic can keep the Lord’s holy work from progressing.
Many of the lessons we are to learn can be received only through the things we experience and sometimes suffer. God expects and trusts us to face temporary mortal adversity with His help so we can learn what we need to learn and become what we are to become in eternity.
May we remember today—and every day—that Jesus Christ invites each of us to come to Him. He is the Light of the World.
Strive to ever more consistently let what God wants for you take priority over what you want for you. Seek to recognize and understand His will and timing in your life. As you do so, you will be directed, protected, and blessed in ways that you today cannot possibly imagine.
The First Presidency has announced that four temples are preparing to enter Phase 3 of reopening as soon as December 21. Phase 3 is a return to temple work on behalf of deceased individuals. newsroom.churchofjesuschrist.org/article/phase-…

As I officiated at the groundbreaking of the Bentonville Arkansas Temple, I was reminded again of the importance of temple covenants and ordinances. I am grateful that many of my friends in Arkansas—an area in which I once lived—will soon be blessed with a temple. #GiveThanks
President @NelsonRussellM invited us to use social media to share our gratitude this week. I am thankful for technology that enables me to connect with friends and family in constraining and challenging circumstances. #GiveThanks
Recently, I participated via broadcast in the groundbreaking of the Bentonville Arkansas Temple. As we watch temples being constructed around the globe, I invite you to focus on what matters most: temple covenants and ordinances that bring the power of godliness into our lives.
Caring for all of God's children is a fundamental aspect of our faith as members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We join with @MWLOrg_en and other friends today to promote understanding and true respect for religion and people of faith. #Tolerance
As we “press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope, and a love of God and of all men” (2 Nephi 31:20), we are blessed with an eternal perspective and vision that stretches far beyond our limited mortal capacity.
Faithfulness is not foolishness or fanaticism. Rather, it is trusting and placing our confidence in Jesus Christ as our Savior, on His name and in His promises.
The year 2020 has been marked, in part, by a global pandemic that has proved, examined, and tried us in many ways. I pray that we as individuals and families are learning the valuable lessons that only challenging experiences can teach us. #GeneralConference
Because of the restrictions during the pandemic, the way we participate in conference temporarily may have changed, but the opportunity to strengthen our faith in Jesus Christ remains constant and powerful! #GeneralConference
We should find great comfort in the fact that ordinary people who faithfully, diligently, and consistently do simple things that are right before God will be blessed in extraordinary ways.
One of the best ways for all of us to prepare to attend the temple is to focus on and increase our understanding of gospel covenants and priesthood ordinances.
Recently, I participated in a historic broadcast for the Middle East/Africa North Area. The members in this area are eagerly anticipating and faithfully preparing for a new temple in Dubai.
Today during the BYU law school's Religious Freedom Annual Review, I discussed the issue of religious freedom and how we have come to realize, perhaps as never before, just how precious and fragile it is. I invite you to read more here.
As we join with the UAE in a “Prayer for Humanity” day of fasting on May 14, the hearts and prayers of members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints unite with our brothers and sisters of other faith traditions as we petition God for relief from COVID-19.
The lessons learned in our previous temple experiences are not recalled only when we are in the temple. They are in our minds, and hopefully in our hearts. And we can have access to those learnings and those memories anytime.
Temples are a point of intersection between heaven and earth. In a season when we have temporarily suspended temple operations, it is a choice opportunity to invite the covenants and ordinances of the temple to pass through us.
Recently, I was asked how I hear the voice of the Lord in my life. One of the ways I #HearHim is through studying the scriptures. The spirit of revelation is real—and can and does function in our individual lives. How do you #HearHim in your life? youtu.be/fuZk_pujd-U
Together we considered the following question: What did we learn and what will we do to “Hear Him” and become more devoted disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ? We invite you to join with us in pondering upon and answering this question. #HearHim
