OK, I get it that the new 16" Macbook Pros announced today are "scary" fast. It has more ports, but would it really kill them to put in ONE USB port for those times when you're on the road, someone gives you a USB flash drive and you forgot your adapter back home at the office?
Can some space nerd explain to me if Captain Kirk really went to "space" or just a really high altitude joy ride.
Seems a few laps around this rock we live on or a short vacay at the ISS is more like going to "space."
Legit Q, cannot find definitive answer online yet.
Are you a Light Sport airplane owner, or know someone in the LSA community that is doing something extraordinary to push that niche of GA forward? I'd like to know about it for my flyingmag.com LSA/Sport Pilot series. Email me: [email protected]
We've been listening to a lot of audio books in the evenings. Last night I realized not much has changed since my dad and his family listened to evening news and "radio hour" shows in San Francisco on this old 1940s-era Zenith All-Band radio. Only now, it is a Macbook Air.
There’s one operational metric for how out of sorts things were today at Southwest after 1,000+ cancellations today. Any flight number above WN8501 is a non-revenue (no passengers) repositioning flight. Southwest by the end of Sunday was flying WN8538. twitter.com/SouthwestAir/s…
Careful, the kids on TikTok may see this and start the fad du jour. Probably get 56,000,000 likes, second only to Kim Kardashian dancing the Macarena while eating breakfast. twitter.com/Calvinn_Hobbes…
Business aviation means jobs. From the smallest U.S. towns to the largest American cities, business aviation employment plays an important role in regional and state economies: noplanenogain.org/business-aviat…#BizAvWorks
Was searching the Twitter today using the hashtag #lightsport and found little to no use of the hash. Last tweet I could find was 2018, most from 2016 or 2014.
Looks like I have some work to do in my new role with @FlyingMagazine and flyingmag.com.
Yes, always a really fun topic. I have written about Freeman several times for @FlyingMagazine and my Airplanista Blog. Very easy to wipe out several hours with a single click, major rabbit hole. Awesome to see Grant Boyd revisiting the Abandoned Airfields story, good stuff. twitter.com/FreightAlley/s…
Always amazing how these big trade shows come together. I was at @NBAA BACE 2019 the day before it opened and it looked like an impossible task to finish in time.
Next day it was perfect. twitter.com/NBAA/status/14…
So @Facebook and its apps all go down the day after a whistleblower appears on "60 Minutes", [insert crazy conspiracy theory here].
I'm going with "the Jewish space lasers took out the servers so we can't spew our anti-vax/horse dewormer misinformation garbage. BENGHAZI!"
The new @FlyingMagazine is on a roll under new ownership, and I just found out today I am going along on that journey. Stoked to be part of this fast-growing team and happy to do my part to make it as great as I know it can be.
More details to come.
Yeah that "Jake" TV spot where the girl loads the scale up at the butcher shoppe with gigantic T-bones only gets better when she piles on a big handful of what is presumed to be premium Applewood-smoked bacon, because...
OK, #avgeeks, this just got real:
"that slab of bacon to accompany the Sunday morning spread has jumped nearly 28% during the past 12 months, inflation-adjusted Consumer Price Index data shows."
Susan, I spent a few years in Reedley, was their weekly paper's Sports Editor. Met my wife there. If you need some quite decent Armenian food, gotta try Uncle Harry's downtown if it is still there. twitter.com/susanbellair/s…
Tonight's random desktop background on my #Macbook Pro...any #avgeek worth his/her weight in avgas will recognize the scene and airport.
Seconds after this pic was taken, you can bet everyone will be getting a massive jet blast, because, 747!
Just discovered that the term "Airplanista" was not listed on Urban Dictionary, so I have submitted it for consideration. Maybe not as hip as "slay your fleek" or other buzzword slang, but at least someone might be able to now figure out what an "Airplanista" is.
I know, do you?
University of San Francisco (@usfca) has a very good source here for determining if an Internet source for COVID/vax/masks info is credible. Mostly Internet 101 stuff here.
Oh, and the "Red Flags" section is a must-read for your cousin's friend Elmer.
#Goducks football as much as 42 point favorites over Stony Brook at Autzen in Eugene.
FYI: Stony Brook University is on Long Island, NY, just down the street from the Hamptons. Their mascot is a giant bottle of Dom Perignon Champagne.
NBAA today welcomed news that the Massachusetts legislature has effectively terminated legislation that would have imposed a $1,000 landing fee on virtually all general aviation operations: nbaa.org/flight-departm…#bizav
@FlyingMagazine is about to get a big digital facelift. Testing it out today for launch next month. First, eliminating the obtrusive ads and overhauling the navigation to make it much cleaner and more modern. Sneak peek...
F-117s working it at Fresno Air Terminal (KFAT) the last few days. It was this airport that sparked my love of aviation, I was a 10YO fence hanger way WAY before it was called "planespotting." Rode my Schwinn Sting Ray bike to the airport.

TY for Dean Siracusa of @FlyingEyesWorld for pointing out on the Facebook how you can sort @flightaware by current aircraft type in the air right now. Almost 800 737-800s, 635 Skyhawks, 78 PC-12s and one each Cessna 337 "Pushme-Pullyou" and Waco YMF.
