Two pounds of beef suet chopped fine, two pounds of apples, two pounds of currants, nutmeg, cinnamon and fruit peels... Can you guess what this festive recipe is for? That's right! It's a 'minced pie' recipe from our archives that sounds rather tasty. #RecipeOfTheDay
As children (and adults!) open their #advent calendars, we're thinking about how it was celebrated in the medieval era. Advent was first observed in the fourth century, and in 1027 it was agreed that it would be a time of peace each year. @Medievalistsmedievalists.net/2015/12/63132/gI

#FunFact Our gardens team has planted around 1.2 million tulip bulbs in the last ten years!🤩p
Many congratulations to The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh on their 73rd wedding anniversary! twitter.com/RoyalFamily/st…
#Tulips may be famous for their bright reds and yellows, however we love the delicate charm of varieties like Lilac Perfection. The Peony-style flowers are long-lasting, so plant these up now to lend longevity as well as beauty to your spring flower displays!
Our Stumpery, home to upturned trunks of ancient trees, looks somewhat Jurassic in its autumn splendour! #landscaping #gardens

Spent the day walking around #Arundel to see the castle and the wetlands. As a bonus I added in a loop around the River Arun with spectacular views over the field and back to the #castle. The South Downs National Park is an amazing place! #ExploreLocal #Sussex

Plant your #dahlia tubers at the end of spring for fantastic displays that can last all through autumn! Unless you live in a very warm part of the country, don't leave the tubers in the cold ground over winter - dig them up, store and reuse! #gardeningtips

Some places look awesome, even in the rain. Arundel Castle and Cathedral. @ArundelCastle closes 1 Nov but the Cathedral is open year round and well worth a visit, as is the town with antique shops, galleries and eateries. arundelcastle.org
