Any chance we can put a moratorium on “what if [POPULAR BAND] wrote [POPULAR SONG]” videos? Or is that wishful thinking
California has the lowest #COVID19 case rate in the nation.

Honestly if you replace disappointment with excitement I totally agree with this…
220 million COVID-19 shots, 1.3 million jobs, and 158 million checks in pockets around the country…

Proud @MPEG700 member here, gotta say I like having a pro-union President. #JointAddress…
Bruh I literally drove 2hrs to your district because none of your constituents wanted to get vaccinated and all the sites were empty sit the fuck down…
That’s a wrap on the sequel! 2 for 2 on Pfizer. 😷fM
I do hope Mr Kane won't be too upset when he hears I've overtaken him with rotten tomatoes.

It's a ridiculous over-romanticization, but with every email I received I always pictured them standing alone in a bookstore, working towards their own dreams. [END]
’ll never know just how many people my articles (hopefully) helped educate or inspire, but a massive highlight of the experience was always when people reached out to thank me for something I wrote.
Thank you to all the filmmakers I’ve interviewed for your time and insight. I wish everyone that writes for Moviemaker now & in the future nothing but the best!
Thank you to all the other writers that consistently turned in incredible work forcing me to step my game up. Thank you to all the PR & film reps I’ve had the joy of meeting, annoying, ghosting-and-being-ghosted-by over the years.
Thank you to Timothy Rhys, @RebeccaPahle & @j_m_wood for giving me a chance when no one else would, and in addition to them thank you James Kaelan, Kelly Leow & Max Weinstein for making my conversations & conceptualizations infinitely better.
Being on the other side of the interview wasn’t quite the way I had in mind, but it gave me the unique & privileged opportunity to see movies, meet my heroes, make lifelong friends, get my first shot in the industry, and continue my never-ending education in cinema.
Back in 2008 when I was starting out MM was the first filmmaking literature I ever bought, and I have many distinct memories of standing alone in a bookstore, reading their articles, and thinking “I’d give anything to be in this magazine”.
Though I would’ve been too busy to pick up even if it did ring; I now work full time & lucratively in an industry I never thought I’d get to, and that was always the endgame.
Well, too be fair, I haven’t for a while. My last article was for SXSW 2019, and since then there was enough turnover (all great people!) that my phone just started ringing a lot less.
A decade ago today my first ever article was published so this seems like a good place to cap it & make things official: I no longer write for @moviemakermag. [THREAD]
Anthony Hopkins is without fault. Class-act and brilliant performance in The Father. Truly, he, Boseman, and Ahmed were all neck and neck for me. Fault is on the Oscar producers who, for ratings, needlessly made the loss of an icon even harder on those anticipating his honor.

for the love of louis b mayer someone address this weirdass order
so I guess we're... still... going? #Oscars
I don't like how much legitimate anxiety this is giving me
Wait, WHAT? We're really not doing best picture last? the fuck is going on…
Somehow my favorite AND least-favorite type of oscar commercial is the ones that are just a supercut of movies
boy this year's in memoriam is tragically paced up
fun fact about the oscars it used to be illegal for them to be fun…
The only way I will believe this was Soderbergh’s idea is if we find out tomorrow a $12 million dollar diamond was stolen while everyone was distracted tweeting about this Oscar music game.

She nailed it. The whole thing. Like I said, a class act. Congratulations Chloe Zhao, a most deserving winner. Let's go!

First Kathryn Bigelow. Now Chloé Zhao. Only two women have won Best Director in 93 years of the Oscars. More are certainly to come:… #Oscars #Oscars2021

Feels weird to do the best directing oscar so early in the night. Coming up next it's best picture followed by documentary short.
Me walking by the Tinhorn Flats “rally” with a 6-pack of Shiner was the closest any of them have ever been to a Texas beer #FuckTinhornFlats
Complaining Mortal Kombat is a bad movie is like complaining that McDonald's is shitty food. Yeah, you're 100% right, but you're the one who pulled past the golden arches and into the drive-through.

still seething about this he literally skipped the shortest movie on the list!
You won’t find this shoddy craftsmanship on @taken4movie & I’d podcast @BestPicPod - you can agree or disagree with us on our ranking, but at least we’re gonna WATCH them all
This is interesting because 1) Marty’s a Top-Ten BP winner, easy 2) He put a movie he hasn’t seen above THIRTY OTHER MOVIES HE HAS (allegedly) 3) Journalism is dead! Anyway brilliant stuff @EsquireUK whatever you paid that writer it’s not enough…

The word “some” is doing a LOT of heavy lifting in that headline. Their ‘protests’ are always, like, the same twelve people and most’ve them probably don’t even live here. We’re ALL upset.…

George Floyd was not a martyr. He was murdered. He didn’t give his life. It was ripped from him by agents of the state. Don’t get it twisted.

Also S/O to @jcpmcs fans that have already sent in so much great stuff that has made me cry or head-bang or fist-pump while going through all your footage & animations & performances. This video rules and I can't wait for y'all to see it!
Just a few days left to get in the "I Hate Myself" music video and no I'm still not used to working with my favorite musician or him publicly saying such nice things about me not sure when that goes away Link:…
This is fantastic! Welcome to the David Wain film school:…
Hollywood history time. Walk a Hollywood lot - particularly @warnerbros in Burbank - and you will inevitably walk past dozens of trailers marked Star Waggons. Ever wonder where they - and the extra g in the name - came from? I did. 1/x
