When I think about how all-consuming and draining it is to portray a dramatic role in film, I’m wholly impressed that politicians have the stamina to play characters for lifetimes.
I’m standing in line to check in at the airport and 212% of people are stressed, fighting and impatient. Perhaps we might consider pumping the place with essential oils or laughing gas.
I didn’t understand the “toxic trait” trend until I discovered mine.
My toxic trait is running two errands and feeling like that’s a major accomplishment so I should take the rest of the day off.
Them: What’s your proudest accomplishment in life?
Me: Honestly, it’s tough to choose, but I think taking out the trash bins on the correct day was a big moment. Also, restocking toilet paper before it ran out.
Occasionally I’ll see a kid working at a coffee shop and think “he seems so cool, we should be friends” until I remember I’m almost 30 and he’s probably in high school. Anyone else forget they’re aging?
This week during work meetings I’m counting how many times people begin their responses with “Sorry..” or “I’ll be quick, I don’t want to take up any of your time…”
So far,
Women/gender non-conforming: 6

How did you know the veil of youth was lifted?
So basically Adulting is always having too many things on your plate, then learning the art of knowing how to set things down and how to pick things back up so you’re not carrying everything at the same time, while also knowing how to repair stuff that you inevitably drop. Yes?
How many hours of screen time do you average daily?
✖️ 365 days ✖️ 70ish years ➗ 24 hours = how many days of your life will be spent staring at a screen. 🙂
I’m at the age in adulthood where you run an average of two errands a day, your back is stiff when you wake up, but you’re still proud of yourself for cooking pasta. How old are you?
I spend most days of the week speaking with people who want to improve their mental health and well-being.
Some moments weigh extra heavily when I hear how many people live 10, 20, 50+ yr with debilitating anxiety & depression. 😔
Sometimes I wish I could grant people a break.

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but personal transformation does come at the expense of your old self. Otherwise, you’re just playing dress-up.. 🤷🏼♀️
As I wrap out my book, I’ve found new interests in the intersections of
Somatics and ethics,
Somatics and social conformity, Somatics and gov’t/politics
Somatics and anthropology…
These were subsections but oof… so much more there. The politics of the body = so fascinating.
Wait, THE most definitive voice of the 21st century doesn’t have all of the answers? Actually @morgan_freeman is full of questions…and, that’s because being curious moves the world.
Please explain why I turned 28 and my entire brain and being immediately became 300% more adult, my life prioritizes shifted and everything started sagging.
