Abortion remains legal and available until 15 weeks of pregnancy. If you need care and are worried about how Florida’s ban will affect you, reach out to your local abortion clinic or fund to learn about your options.

Florida politicians have turned their backs on women and people who can become pregnant, forcing us into a second-class status by denying us the right to make decisions about our bodies, our health care, and our futures. Everyone deserves access to the abortion care they need.

BREAKING: The state of Florida has appealed the injunction of a 15-week abortion ban, triggering a state law that pauses the injunction and keeps the ban in effect for now. This ban is harmful — and a violation of the state constitution. We won't stop fighting.
17h
REMINDER: We all deserve access to abortion without shame, fear, or stigma. Period.

The court’s decision does NOT change your constitutional rights when interacting with border agents in the border region. But it will make it more difficult to hold federal agents accountable for violating those rights. The fight is not over. aclu.org/news/civil-lib…
Bans on abortion and gender-affirming health care politicize both our bodily autonomy and access to essential, life-saving health care. aclu.org/news/reproduct…
Banning books attacks our ability to read, learn, and think for ourselves. An outdated obscenity law cannot override our First Amendment rights. aclu.org/news/free-spee…
Abortion rights have been top of mind for many people since the shameful ruling from the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade. If you're worried of how to talk about abortion rights with friends and family, we've got you covered. aclu.org/news/reproduct…
The Miranda warnings were established to protect people against incriminating themselves when under investigation. They are a critical measure in ensuring law enforcement is held accountable. aclu.org/news/civil-lib…
On this episode of At Liberty, we’re talking about crime, the history of criminalization, and how political values are reflected in the choices around enforcement and prevention. aclu.org/podcast/the-ov…
Imposing liability without knowledge an illegal activity is occurring online raises serious concerns about our First Amendment rights. We urge the courts to protect the ability of sex workers and the LGBTQ community to safely express themselves online. aclu.org/news/civil-lib…

BREAKING: The Texas Supreme Court blocked our injunction, allowing a total abortion ban originally passed in 1925 to be enforced. This law has already forced countless people to carry pregnancies against their will. Abortion is our right — no matter what the courts say.
In this crucial time in the fight for our right to abortion, we must come together in support of our communities. Volunteering as a clinic escort is one of many impactful ways to help those around you. aclu.org/news/reproduct…

WEST VIRGINIA We’re suing West Virginia for attempting to enforce an antiquated 1800s-era abortion ban. We won’t allow anti-abortion politicians to turn back the clock and take away essential health care without a fight.
UTAH We WON a temporary restraining order in Utah blocking an abortion ban that took effect the same day Roe was overturned. This allowed abortion clinics to resume providing care for the time being, temporarily restoring access to abortion back to the people of Utah.
OHIO Ohio passed a law banning abortion at six weeks. We’re taking them to court. At six weeks of pregnancy, most people don’t even know they’re pregnant. Bans on such essential, time-sensitive health care is a cruel violation of our rights.
KENTUCKY We WON a restraining order blocking two abortion bans and restoring access to abortion in Kentucky. This restraining order allows patients to once again access abortion care for the time being, providing much-needed relief.
TEXAS We WON a temporary restraining order in Texas, blocking an abortion ban from before Roe was decided in 1973. People in Texas — and people everywhere — deserve unfettered access to abortion care, without delay.
ARIZONA We filed an emergency motion the day after Roe was overturned to ensure a vague “personhood requirement” in the state won't prevent people from accessing abortion care. Until the court acts, the uncertainty in this law will cause providers to suspend abortion services.
FLORIDA We WON an injunction on a law banning abortion at 15 weeks and criminalizing doctors, a ban in violation of the state’s constitution.
The Supreme Court turned its back on abortion rights and overturned Roe. Since then, we’ve filed legal actions in: ✔️ Florida ✔️ Arizona ✔️ Texas ✔️ Kentucky ✔️ Ohio ✔️ Utah ✔️ West Virginia To hold the line and defend our abortion rights — and that’s just in the past week.
ICE's own documents make it clear that Mr. Dean would not have died if he had been provided with basic levels of medical care. This demonstration of cruelty and neglect is exactly why we must shut down the ICE detention machine. buzzfeednews.com/article/adolfo…

📣 SAFE, ACCESSIBLE ABORTION FOR ALL 📣
A prison sentence should never mean people lose fundamental human rights like access to health care or humane conditions of confinement. After years of dodging accountability, Arizona prisons must uphold the Eighth Amendment rights of people in custody. azcentral.com/story/news/loc…
VICTORY: A judge found the Arizona Dept. of Corrections systemically violates the constitutional rights of incarcerated people by failing to provide basic healthcare and subjecting them to harsh conditions in solitary confinement. This is a landmark decision.
The Supreme Court is intruding upon our liberties, our safety, and our rights, all in the name of a commitment to a vision of the Constitution as it was drafted centuries ago. democracynow.org/2022/6/30/aclu…
Without federal protections for abortion, incarcerated people will face even more barriers to access for essential care. No one should be forced to carry a pregnancy against their will. Full stop. nbcnews.com/news/nbcblk/en…
Congress also can, and should, pass legislation to protect our right to sue federal law enforcement officers and receive damages from agents who violate our rights. The fight is not over. aclu.org/news/civil-lib…
When Border Patrol does violate our rights, we can still seek accountability through existing channels, like filing an administrative complaint. But we must fight for a more fair, transparent, and just process to investigate abuses in the border region. aclu.org/news/civil-lib…
There are only two circumstances where Border Patrol can act outside the Fourth Amendment: ▪️ Stopping vehicles at interior checkpoints to check immigration status ▪️ Entering private property within 25 miles of the border (not dwellings like your home) aclu.org/news/civil-lib…
Border Patrol cannot enter your house without a warrant. Agents need probable cause before searching you or your belongings without your voluntary consent. You always have the right to remain silent and say you wish to speak with an attorney. aclu.org/news/civil-lib…
In Egbert v. Boule, the Court narrowed our options for holding Border Patrol agents accountable in court by limiting our ability to seek monetary damages — an important deterrent to abuse. Still, this ruling DOES NOT eliminate your rights. aclu.org/news/civil-lib…
We want to be very clear: The Constitution still applies in the 100 mile border zone. If you live in the 100 mile border zone, your rights have not changed. Here’s what happened in the recent Supreme Court ruling: aclu.org/news/civil-lib…

We found almost every method of communication between detained people and their attorneys to be severely broken at ICE detention facilities across the country. The cruelty must stop. It's time to invest in community-based alternatives to detention. aclu.org/news/immigrant…
In the name of history, the Supreme Court has for the first time wholly eliminated a right that half the nation has relied upon for half a century. Originalism ignores fundamental changes in our society. washingtonpost.com/opinions/2022/…
NEW: A Florida state court just announced that it will soon block the state’s cruel 15-week ban on abortion. If you need abortion care in Florida, call your local abortion clinic or fund for more information on access.
