APD crime lab visited @BosqueSchNews students who finished three- week multi-disciplinary courses including forensics! They showed what they learned through mock crime scenes complete with dioramas, evidence files, and autopsy reports.

On 05/11/22 from 8:30am-11:00am, the APD Motor Unit conducted a freeway speeding operation on southbound I25 at Alameda. During the 2 1/2 hours of the operation, 178 moving citations were issued to drivers who were traveling in excess of the posted speed limit.
APD detectives today arrested and charged 19-year-old Isaac Martinez for the Feb. 19, 2022, murder of Jonathan Garza outside of a Downtown bar.
Samuel Archuleta has been arrested for a double homicide that occurred on April 30, 2022 along Girard Blvd. NE. Archuleta was arrested in Durango, CO, with the assistance of law enforcement in the Durango area.

Officers tracked a stolen vehicle to the Motel 6 at Central Ave near Tramway Blvd. where a confrontation between detectives and an offender led to a shooting. The offender was critically injured. A Multi-Agency Task Force investigation was initiated.

APD’s SWAT team arrested 15-year-old Michael Salinas, Jr., who is charged for the February murder of Vincent Phuc Loc Le at Westgate Community Park.
A suspect in an armed carjacking fired at least one shot at officers who pursued him. Officers returned fire and the suspect is deceased. A firearm was found nearby. Detectives are investigating this shooting.
The Multi-Agency Task Force is responding to investigate an officer-involved shooting in the northeast heights near Eubank Blvd and Spain. We will provide details as soon as we have information that can be released. No officers were injured during the incident.
