Southwest PRT officers were flagged down by a man who spotted his stolen vehicle. With help from Air Support, officers located the vehicle and performed a high risk stop. All occupants of the stolen vehicle were detained. A firearm and 400 Fentanyl pills were also recovered.

APD Auto Theft Unit arrested Christopher Campos, 33, on five felony warrants. Campos was with murder suspect Anjanette Martinez on Wednesday when APD’s SWAT team detained the pair in the Barelas neighborhood.
Last year, we took the #MetroCrimeInitiative to the legislature to pass crime fighting policies, close gaps in the criminal justice system, and bring in funding for important public safety programs. While we saw several successes in this session, we're far from finished.

NW area command officers conducted a proactive operation in and around Cottonwood Mall resulting in the following, apprehended 21 Felony Warrants and apprehended 2 Felony Offenders. Business owners expressed thanks for the increased presence of officers.
Last week APD officers conducted a citywide warrant round up resulting in 65 offenders booked into the detention center, 92 warrants cleared, 15 new felony charges, 16 misdemeanor warrants cleared, 2 misdemeanor arrests, and 4 stolen vehicles recovered.

The independent monitor overseeing APD’s reform efforts has released its 16th report, which shows another major increase in overall compliance. APD achieved 100% primary compliance and 99% secondary compliance, which reflects new policies and training based on those policies.

Drivers should consider alternative river crossings north of I-40, such as Montaño Road, Paseo Del Norte Blvd. and Alameda Blvd. There will be no parking allowed along the route for the motorcade. Parked cars will be towed.
Drivers should avoid the area south of I-40 in SE and SW Albuquerque between the hours of 12:30 and 7:00p.m. Rush hour traffic will be impacted as drivers cross the Rio Grande in the evening.
APD will provide traffic control assistance during President Biden’s visit to New Mexico on Thursday. The President will attend multiple events while in Albuquerque, which will require police to shut down traffic on some stretches of roads, including I-25, I-40 and the Big-I.

APD officers worked with Code Enforcement today to clear an encampment on private property
APD currently uses ShotSpotter in all 6 area commands. This system is a gun detection technology that alerts officers to gunshots fired and allows them to hear it in real time. Dispatchers and officers receive notifications on their phones that show where the shots were fired.
