When folks like @drcarlhart say the war on drugs is a jobs program, they aren’t kidding.
It’s EXPENSIVE to process ppl through the system, to lock them up, surveil them, medicate them, feed them, house them, etc.
And the wild thing is that we do a terrible job of it.
