Lmao at a billionaire earnestly trying to sell people on the idea that “free speech” is actually a $8/mo subscription plan

In previous jobs, I have seen people who do horrible things being rewarded. They are moved onto another department or promoted, they then turn into monsters. My mind cannot compute why Suella Braverman is allowed to come back.

While I strongly disagree with Rishi Sunak’s politics and question his mandate, it’s important to recognise the significance of Britain’s first Prime Minister of South Asian heritage. It’s not something our grandparents would ever have imagined when they made the UK home.

Having said all that, he needs some media/speech training pronto… that was a very weird first speech & way too short.

The idea of a brown Tory British PM was a comedic notion. I remember being part of a BBC writing room working on a sitcom about an Asian backbencher who becomes leader of the Conservative party in crisis. It never got made because it was considered too far fetched.

For so many of us with Indian parents, the stories they told us of what life was like for them when they first arrived make today an important moment. Many faced such racism & even those who didn’t were often held back despite being really good at their jobs…

Unsurprisingly Rishi Sunak’s rise to the top job in the UK, is big news here in #India. 75 years after India gained independence from British rule it’s seen as a landmark moment. “Indian son rises over the Empire History comes full circle in Britain” - @ndtv. #RishiSunakPM

If the Prime Minister doesn't quit today, then eagerly looking forward to the 'people you've never heard of resigning from jobs you had no idea existed' stage of a government crisis...

From today, Graduates of non-UK universities can apply to come to the UK through the new 'High Potential Individual' visa scheme. But this scheme appears to exclude anyone who studied at university in Africa.

The wine on the wall. The vomit. The fight. The early morning exits. All good colour from Sue Gray. But the most damning parts of the report is that they knew that what they were doing was wrong. Dodging cameras, leaving by back doors, changing invites. THEY KNEW

Two sisters, living in Spain tricked to go to Pakistan where they were murdered by 6 male family members for not securing Spanish visa's for their husbands. Their mother tried to help but was locked in a room while #HonourKillings took place. mirror.co.uk/news/world-new…
