For my immigrants rights friends, Kathy Hochul is the reason why New York State could not issue driver's licenses to undocumented immigrants until very recently. As the Erie County clerk, she defied Spitzer's executive order and refused to issue them.

On Tuesday, Lucio, a street vendor in the Bronx, received a $1,000 fine for selling tacos without a permit. Lucio lost his restaurant job in 2020. He was excluded from all pandemic relief, and now fined for trying to survive. The criminalization of the working-class MUST end!

Undocumented workers MUST be included in relief bills including the infrastructure bills that are currently being floated. Anything less is endangering a full recovery by leaving millions in the dark.

Second, the US spent decades contributing to regime change and destabilization in Latin America. We can’t help set someone’s house on fire and then blame them for fleeing. twitter.com/therecount/sta…
