My personal favorite aircraft -Blackburn Buccaneer, famous for it's ultra low level maritime strike capability, designed to deliver tactical nukes, strong as an ox & using 'ground effect' would regularly get down to 'skimming' the sea. Served on Op Granby then finally retired 1994.
Brig James Hill,DSO,MC,North Africa.Fighting German & Italians troops with tanks.Brig Hill drew his revolver, charged towards tanks, dodging fire & poked his wpn through tanks observation holes firing. His actions allowed his men to withdraw safely. He was hit 3 times & survived. 💪5

Operation Musketoon - 10 Army Commando's & 2 SOE conducted a daring raid against Glomfjord power plant.Inserted by submarine they climbed sheer rock faces to reach the objective-charges placed & plant destroyed. Being pursued by the Germans, four men escaped,7 executed & 1 KIA.
SA80 A2 set for upgrade to A3 specification to ensure service beyond 2025; A little lighter, hard wearing coating & new brackets. The A2 version was a huge improvement on the A1 and in my opinion, with the upgrades, will continue to be one of the best assault rifles.
I get the temporary detachments, aside the Air Wing C2, why, when there is an enduring need don’t we permanently base fast jet squadrons at RAF Akrotiri?
To complete the set; Operation Black Buck - Vulcan XM607. At the time, longest range bombing mission to neutralise Port Stanley Airfield & radars- low on fuel, high on courage! success meant destroyed radars, un-serviceable runway & Mirage III were withdrawn to the mainland.
One for the Royal Navy! The painting shows HMS Campbeltown sailing on through heavy incoming. The raid on St Nazaire - widely,is regarded as the ballsiest raid & the men who took part the bravest of all time - Direct, brutal & effective!
