System grief overload.
Our politicians won’t support constituents facing cancer treatment, diabetes, or any other kind of long-term chronic disease, so what makes you think long covid care is even on their minds? What place do you think it should get on the long list of other neglected concerns?
Conservatives shouldn’t get weed. Republicans who smoke pot are an abomination.
Women are more likely to get raped in college than they are to leave with a job in the career field they really want.
My cousin did an HVAC repair course in like six weeks at the tech school and earns twice as much as any family member I have who went to college.
Communities used to fundraise and ship their cleverest and kindest boys off to college to become ministers. Now college is just really shitty job training that you have to pay for yourself and that’s absurd.
Landlords are parasites.

I didn’t really have a dad growing up so it was hard as a kid to know what were like ‘dad’ things and what were tropes played up for TV. Imagine my shock when I learned that very few dads spend their evenings building out model train collections in the basement.
Quickly jumping on social media to ask my PA folks to boost and donate! A formerly incarcerated comrade getting back on his feet. We’ve hit 10% of our goal but we’ve still got more to go! Can you help us raise $2k? #MutualAidRequest

Life is suffering and existence is pain.
Feminism stopped being about the liberation of women and children when it started expecting moms to be capitalists, too.
Feminism went in a wrong direction when it became about yas queening millionaire war criminals and less about codifying reproductive freedom into law.

We got confused about what feminism meant when it started being about six-figure women leaning into seven figures and not like nationalizing baby formula.
Trying to plan what I’m going to do with 100+ lbs of over-enthusiastically planted zucchini this summer and so far I’ve come up with: zucchini bread, zucchini bread, and drones to drop zucchini on the heads of my enemies with stickers on them that read “DEATH FROM ABOVE.”
They’ve done studies of this and they’ve proven this several ways now that straight men find most women physically attractive while straight women find most men unattractive. OKcupid found that women users rated as many as 80% of its male users as below average.

When you don't specifically tell a non-denominational minister what to wear to officiate your wedding, you should be prepared for literally anything.
I have a hard enough time as it is explaining Arcade Fire to children. Good luck explaining sovereign debt default and ecofascism.
The real mindfuck for me is everyone my age knowing how bad the everything is and how much worse things are going to get and still having kids. My mom says that in the 80s when she had me she was convinced we’d be living on the moon by now.
Do men in other countries do this or this is one of those American exceptionalism things?
There’s not a single article of menswear that I find more singularly infuriating than the fleecy vest.
My retirement plan is the same as yours, I imagine: die tragically young in a detention camp, shot for collapsing in grief while digging mass graves.

Domestic terrorism is the praxis of war waged against one’s neighbors. It’s manifest in the extreme in mass shootings but it’s also happening pretty much everywhere every day in this country when Karens call the cops to take out who they see as human trash.
Sometimes bitter, hurtful men who lost their tech job and lost their family, have strong opinions about women's tech jobs and families. I don't engage with, or even about those folks. I just enjoy the fact that tech is getting much better at excreting these men from the industry

For one year now, they have adored their afternoons living in ORB. There is a second ORB right next to this one. The exact same ORB. They never use separate ORB. ORB Brothers will only share ORB. ORB is always better with a friend.

Everyone’s got a legitimate claim to righteous anger. Finding someone who doesn’t is kind of like finding someone who hasn’t lost a loved one or suffered heartbreak. The thing most of us are fighting about now is who gets to be the maddest person in a very mad room.
Capitalism will give you weapon stockpiles and baby food shortages.

This is correct. I have relatives who moved there and they were surprised how much more willing to talk people in rural Ohio were than in Pennsylvania twitter.com/girlziplocked/…

Pennsylvania is considered a flyover state by most people on either coastline which is fine because I think unlike the Midwest we don’t even try to be polite.
The administration didn’t tell America about the baby formula shortage sooner because Americans are good capitalists and so would have taken that as their cue to stockpile and sell formula at an enormous markup, just like they did with hand sanitizer, masks, and toilet paper.
spicy take I know but nobody should have to work at all around other people during an uncontrolled pandemic without the benefit of a universalized healthcare system.

i'm reading the doug mastriano thesis on his worries about a left-wing "hitlerian putsch" and it's truly just 60 pages of incredibly bigoted fanfic written at a middle-school level (1/7) apps.dtic.mil/dtic/tr/fullte…

I really don’t want to stan politicians anymore, but Katie Porter seems pretty great as a person. Like she’s the woman who would forgive you your trespasses but also shiv a guard in the kidney when we’re all detained in the camps.
🥩 4 companies control 85% of the beef market 🫘 4 companies control 80% of the soy market 🍝 3 companies control 78% of the pasta market 🥣 3 companies control 72% of the cereal market These companies hike prices with impunity—especially in uncertain times. We need competition.

“You think all Viking tattoos are nazi red flags.” “Nobody in rural Pennsylvania grows up with Viking heritage, ok? He might as well have a Confederate flag stamped on his ass.”
I hate having to help younger women identify nazi tattoos on dating apps. This shouldn’t even be a thing anyone should have to do anymore.
The Bronx has led the state in eviction filings for three years in a row. But Speaker @CarlHeastie & AM @mikebenedetto82 have FAILED to protect their constituents from unjust evictions and massive rent hikes. Demand their support for #GoodCause at right2remain.com.
