My cousin did an HVAC repair course in like six weeks at the tech school and earns twice as much as any family member I have who went to college.
Communities used to fundraise and ship their cleverest and kindest boys off to college to become ministers. Now college is just really shitty job training that you have to pay for yourself and that’s absurd.
I didn’t really have a dad growing up so it was hard as a kid to know what were like ‘dad’ things and what were tropes played up for TV. Imagine my shock when I learned that very few dads spend their evenings building out model train collections in the basement.

Sometimes bitter, hurtful men who lost their tech job and lost their family, have strong opinions about women's tech jobs and families.
I don't engage with, or even about those folks. I just enjoy the fact that tech is getting much better at excreting these men from the industry

The administration didn’t tell America about the baby formula shortage sooner because Americans are good capitalists and so would have taken that as their cue to stockpile and sell formula at an enormous markup, just like they did with hand sanitizer, masks, and toilet paper.
