Try this out, see how it does. If it doesn't drive conversions, it's going to help at least make your other more direct-response ads more effective. This tactic does well educating a new audience about who/what/why you are.
The last piece here is the audience. Depending on what you're optimizing for: • clicks • view content • add to cart (ATC) • initiate checkout (IC) • purchase You can decide how broad or narrow you want to get. Higher conversion objective = broader audience. & vise versa.
Within the first couple of days, you'll see what's working and what isn't. When I first did this, we would launch 49 or 96 creatives (all possible variations), and find that 4 or 6 would really ramp up.
The next step: experiment pushing that article with some paid media. Your 3 main inputs here: • Headline - catchy, not clickbait • Ad text - describe the punch line of the story • Image - don't overproduce this, you won't get the click.
The bottom line with PPR: If you think the article is a good story and does a good job of making your product the solution or the punch line, test it.
How can you spot a PPR opportunity? Sometimes you'll know right away. You'll have a press piece go up, & almost instantly you see the sales being generated are tied to that article. If you don't notice a bump right away, it could just be a result of being a small publication.
Performance PR (PPR), is the content that: 1. Tells a good story 2. It's not cluttered (no pop-ups, banners, etc) 3. It goes into depth about the product (you understand the benefits) It should get someone interested in trying what you're selling before they get to your site.

There’s no “hack” to building brand. It’s just consistently doing the right thing.
The iOS 14 cookiepocalypse is another reason you need to build brand & have a reason to exist. Brands with a proper foundation & an omnichannel strategy have seen almost no effect on their MER (media-efficiency ratio). The brands without a proper foundation are hurting. Badly.
