We started our final day in the Faroes with a hike to Sørvágsvatn where a lake meets the ocean, followed by Trøllkonufingur and the charming village of Kirkjubøur. The scale and drama of this place has completely enchanted us. Four days is just not enough. @VisitFaroe
We spent the day hiking in Mykines, the westernmost island of the Faroes and home to a large colony of adorable puffins. Faroese puffins nest on land in summer and can be seen by the dozen. We were a little early in the season but managed to find a cutie or two. @VisitFaroe
Today, we explored Streymoy and Eysturoy, two of the biggest islands in the Faroes. Our highlight was Gjógv, a tiny village named after the 200m long sea-lashed gorge that runs into the Atlantic. Here, this notoriously wild ocean is both arresting and oppressive. @VisitFaroe
We landed in the Faroe Islands late this evening but given that the sun set at 11.13pm, we still had time to sample the scenery, including Múlafossur waterfall and the five-peaked islet of Tindhólmur. It's a bit chilly but we think we're going to like it here! @VisitFaroe
