Lakers turned down a sign and trade for Boozer + Picks for Gasol, drafted him anyway. Saved a ton of money, but got no picks out of it.
Lakers officially sign Carlos Boozer off waivers.
UPDATE: Bill Russell collapsed while giving a speech in Lake Tahoe. #Celtics tell me he is doing OK and will likely fly out tonight #wcvb

Bulls play the 76ers tonight in the first round of the Summer League Championship.
Carlos Boozer's new team will be announced around 5:00pm today.
Bidding war begins of Boozer, Heat have mixed feelings but could possibly take him cheap. Booz lives in Miami.
Bulls have officially amnestied Carlos Boozer.
DJ Augstin being singed for only $3mil a year surprises me. He is making less money than Ben Gordon next season.
Pretty excited to play as the Bulls in 2k15. McBuckets and Snell will drop bombs.
Bulls weighing interest with free agent SG Xavier Henry.
Took a monsterous nap and missed big news! Bulls officially sign @nikolamirotic12 and resign Kirk Hinrich.
Luol Deng officially signs with the Heat. 2yr/$20mil. Remember be turned down 3yr/$30mol with the Bulls.
Chicago stuck with zero options for SF. Hopefully Dougie can provide what we need at a wing scorer.
Luol Deng signing with the Miami Heat. 2 year $20mil.
A bomb from Barron! 3rd quarter buzzer beater from at least 35 feet.
Tony Snell is the best player on the floor in this game, looking good for next season.
I don't want to speak too soon, but McDermott reminds me of Kyler Korver so much. Return of the hot sauce in Chicago??
Tony Snell just dunked all over the Clippers in Vegas, that was nice.

I would love the Bulls to target Ray Allen. Perfect scoring when starters rest.
Deng is the Bulls last option at a decent starting SF. Don't be surprised if we make a push for him again.
Bulls now have 4 PF's on the roster. Boozer's contract isn't appealing but it's possible they could trade for picks to dump his salary.
Looking for Pau's contract figures now. Hopefully not another case of 2010 where they overpaid after losing out on top 3 big names.
@WesInChicago - He will ask LaLa what to think. LaLa- "Cha Ching over Ra Ring"

I wonder what Carmelo is thinking now that Gasol just officially joined the Bulls.
No one has a better passing front court than the Chicago Bulls now.
Welcome @paugasol to the Chicago Bulls! Fantastic big man. Is this the Two Towers phase of the Bulls history? We hope!
At least I was right about something ;)
It hasn't been easy. After meditating it a lot I've chosen to play with the Chicago Bulls. Looking forward to this new chapter of my career

The Rockets have signed Trevor Ariza. Bulls running out of options for a SF.
Pau Gasol is on his way to Chicago. It's official.
Carlos Boozer is likely headed to Houston, they need a PF after losing out on Chris Bosh.
Dunleavy will not be included in Pau Gasol deal.
Bulls fans: What remaining free agents do you think would fit with Chicago this year? #BullsNation
Bulls officially informed on Melo's intentions to resign in NY. Time to move on.
Lakers are waiting to officially sign Nick Young until after the Pau Gasol S/T.
Sorry Bulls family, feel like I let you down on this one. Melo seemed like a done deal. So many things happening at once.
Big player in keeping Melo in NYC: His wife. Has TV deals in New York, didn't want to leave the city.
Pau deal should be done in the next few hours. After that is done, Bulls rushing for Ariza or Deng.
I wouldn't want to be Carmelo Anthony's inbox right about now.
If Danny Granger hasn't signed yet, would be a perfect fit in Chicago. Not opposed to brining Luol Deng back, one of my favorite Bulls ever.
Pau Gasol should still find his way here. VC would have been a great fit here, Stephenson still available.
Melo single handedly killed the Bulls offseason by taking this long. Lots of potential fits in Chicago signed with different teams this week

Bulls mgmt resisting the idea of amnestying Boozer, and lack of team cooperation in S/T is playing large. Melo tired of waiting.
Only explanation is that Pau Gasol signing fell through, leaving Bulls with nothing so far in this offseason.
Melo was ready to sign last night, heard it was a done deal with marketing team. Looking into what happened overnight and this morning.
