Cool rain. Inside sunshine: donut nectarines, their scent perfuming the air. One bite, and the juice drips down my chin. Amazing intensity.

Cool bright morning. Hot tea. Asparagus folded into softly scrambled eggs. Tang of grated lemon peel. Parmesan. Splash of balsamic. So fine.
Sleepy gray afternoon. Storm blows in: pounding rain. Pasta sizzled in oil. Chile-sparked garlic. Tang of bottarga. Splash of lemon. Awake!
Cicadas screech. So loud! Eating fat local asparagus; butter, lemon, balsamic. Fresh green stalks. So sweet. Perfect finger food.
