In Kathmandu valley in Nepal, groups of 30 women were paid 575 rupees per day for 15 days work rebuilding a collapsed irrigation channel which had provided their community’s crops which water. 27 year-old Bimala Balami was involved in clearing the irrigation channel under our cash for work project.
