|| S Y M M E T R Y || Had a fun time of worship with my home church (@calvaryknoxville) this morning! Now unwinding and enjoying this dreary Sunday weather. And yes, you can always enjoy being outside, even when it's dark and rainy.
|| S P R I N G ~ B U G || Stumbled upon this old bug while hanging out in Maryville, TN this afternoon!
|| N I G H T ~ T R A I N || Sometimes the night calls for a train ride, and you can only choose to comply. #TheNightIsYoung #StayWild
|| P L A N T A T I O N #2 || A side shot captured of the Ramsey House. Such a great piece of history!
|| P L A N T A T I O N || Paid a quick visit to the Ramsey Plantation House earlier today. Stellar property and beautiful home! Est. 1797 by Knoxville's first builder, Thomas Hope.
|| T R A C K || Returned to a familiar spot on this cloudy day. This train track goes right across the Tennessee River. Kind of scary to be on but ridiculously worth checking out. Knoxville is a cool town!
Well friends, the song list has finally been settled upon for my first full length album! So excited to release these new worship songs later this year. #ByYourGrace
|| O B S C U R E || It was so foggy, we nearly lost our way! I love expeditions through the mountains.
|| H A Z E || I'm beginning to understand why they call it The Great "Smoky" Mountain National Park. Nonetheless, there is so much beauty to experience, even on overcast days!
#TBT to last Saturday when I got to watch my little brother dominate the field with his soccer team. They won the match 4-2! It's also his 11th birthday today. Sad that I can't be with him to celebrate today, but I'm still celebrating him. Happy Birthday Will!
|| G L O W || We chased the light while spending time in the Smoky Mountains yesterday. It was a great day for hiking together as a family!
So happy to have spent the day with my Mom and Dad! They are such strong examples of Jesus and their unconditional love is proof. Today also marks the birthday of my Father which we celebrated by venturing into the Great Smoky Mountain National Park as a family. I'm beyond thankful for all of the th
My friend @pilgrimbenham brought it yesterday morning! Such a boldly delivered message that only Jesus is the resurrection and the life. It was amazing to watch people respond to the truth of the gospel, realizing that hope is only guaranteed through Christ!
Such an honor to have been able to fly down to Florida for today's Easter celebration at Calvary Shoreline. The Lord's character was manifest through His power to redeem the lost and refine the saved. It was a memorable time getting to glorify our risen Savior! I'm so incredibly grateful for Jesus.
A brief slideshow summarizing Jake's trip to Bradenton, FL to lead worship for Easter Sunday at Calvary Shoreline.…
|| S T I L L N E S S || Taking time tonight to get my mind around this weekend's Florida trip and the coming Easter celebration as we commemorate the moment when sin, death, and hell were completely vanquished once and for all by Jesus. I feel totally affected by the thought of Jesus' submission to
|| C R O S S || "The old cross is a symbol of death. God salvages the individual by liquidating him and then raising him again in newness of life. God offers life, but not an improved old life. The life He offers is life out of death. It always stands at the far side of the cross." (A.W. Tozer) [Pho
Heading back down to Florida to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus with Calvary Shoreline! Excited to partner with Pastor Pilgrim Benham and to see the evidence of the Lord in the life of this brand new church. If you're in the Sarasota / Bradenton area, come on out and worship the risen King with
Super excited to return to Florida for Easter Sunday with Calvary Shoreline! For details:
|| M E R C Y || "The LORD is good to all, and His mercy is over all that He has made." (Psalm 145:9)
|| F O R E S T || Looks like fall; feels like spring. My favorite weather!
|| A W A K E N || This house stood completely empty next to the shack I posted a few moments ago. I was sad to see it vacant, but it was a beautiful sight as the sun rose behind it!
|| R I S E || The sun ascended at 7:36 this morning. I watched it come up behind this deserted shack. 'Twas glorious!
|| F A K E || Photo courtesy of @giannajoy 📷. Mustache inspiration from @realadampowell 👨. Maybe I'll be able to actually grow a magical mustache one day, but that day hasn't come folks. Keep praying 🙏! #FBF (Mustache added using Stacheify app)
|| C A T H E D R A L || I love the different styles of buildings that host worship gatherings around town. Just as people are unique, so are the structures in which we occupy. This church was established in 1833 and is still frozen in the era it was built. Absolutely beautiful!
|| P A S S A G E || It's dark and rainy again. Decided to go for a brief drive. This is a means of entry for a church building in an older part of town. Accompanied by lamps on either side, I just knew I had to stop.
|| C L I F F || Another shot from the rock quarry. I had crazy butterflies in my stomach while standing at the top.
|| Q U A R R Y || Much like yesterday, today was marked by beautiful weather, which made for a perfect opportunity to check out a local rock quarry. It's beginning to feel a lot like spring and I'm excited!
|| P E A C E || With coffee from @viennacoffeehouse in hand, industrial vibes and a setting sun, today came to a calm close. I'm thankful that God gives peace transcending our understanding.
|| T O W E R S || Incredible sunset to wrap up a beautiful Sunday! There was no better way to conclude the day than at an industrial location with smoke stacks in view.
|| G L O O M || The sunshine was short lived and we're back to dark, foggy, wet weather. I'm down with that though! Especially when cabins are in sight.
|| B O S S || Ventured to a railroad bridge this afternoon. This guy is such a great mentor and friend! I'm constantly inspired by his heart toward people and dedication to the Lord.
|| D O O R || A reminder that in every temptation God provides a way of escape. From darkness to light, He always leads!
|| M A K E the C L I M B || Today has a high of 70 and the sun is shining! So different from yesterday. These are the days when moseying around town is extra fun.
|| B R I D G E || Down by the Tennessee River, a subtle fog hovers above the water.
|| O V E R C A S T || Still pretty rainy here in K-town, and I prefer it.
|| S P O O K Y || Morning eeriness in older parts of town can be quite frightening.
|| H I S T O R I C || The architecture of older buildings never ceases to amaze me. This one blew me away.
|| D R E A R Y || Rainy day hangs in Old City Knoxville are always enjoyed. I like this town!
|| S E A R C H I N G || Though the days seem dark, a Light has come.
|| P I L G R I M || In reference to my earlier post, today has been quite wild. I'm reminded that God leads us out beyond our territories of convenience and into lands that are full of uncharted challenges. Like all the prophets and saints who have gone before us, we too will face confusion, fear, o
|| S T A Y W I L D || Went on a 🏃this morning, found a cool looking silo on a large piece of farm property, took a photo from inside the silo, quickly ran home like a wee little 🐖 .
|| F I N A L || We tried the main entrance, but no one answered the door... The Eugenia Williams Mansion must truly be empty.
|| S I D E || Another shot of the Eugenia Williams Mansion. We're obviously not allowed in... 😢
|| F R O N T || A close up of the Eugenia Williams Mansion. This was such an outstanding house and property!
|| M A G N I F I C E N T || Here lies one of the best places I have ever had the chance to explore! This is the Eugenia Williams Mansion. Built in 1940, this magnificent home stands on 24 acres of land located right along the Tennessee River. Unfortunately, no one has lived in this enormous manor in
