A morning mansion was a pleasant sight to see to begin the day. At one time this building served as someone's house. Now it is used as the main facility for WATE 6, a local news channel in Knoxville. I love historic Knoxville, especially the "old city" which is where this building can be found.
Another shot of downtown sundown. I love hanging in K-Town on evenings like this, when the weather's mild and the city's wild. Praying that God will continue to revive this place!
Sunsets with Knoxville's famous Sunsphere in view are always nice. Here's a shot of my cousin Jeffrey standing tall as the sun was heading down. I love living in this town.
My Pastor and his family own a cabin in the Smoky's that is available for rent throughout the year. This weekend happened to be unbooked so we took some of our college students into the mountains yesterday to spend time growing relationships and continuing to study through the book of Daniel togethe
My cousin Jeffrey decided to stop in K-Town on his way down to Georgia. So great to spend some time together catching up in a city that I've grown to love! He's walking by faith not by sight, trusting the Lord and not his own understanding. This next segment to his journey is going to be good.
The city of Knoxville is beautiful in many ways, but it is a temporary city. One day it will fall, along with the cities of the earth. While this can cause skepticism in the mind of an unbeliever and peril in the heart of a church attender, this causes great hope to spring up in the life of a follow
The Spirit of God moved in love and conviction through an obedient group of friends tonight as they led men, women and children to embrace their adoption as sons and daughters of an ever good and gracious Father. What a powerful evening of devotion to God. I love how the Lord is using Housefires.
Considering all the rain we've been receiving, the sunshine is extra special today. Who would you take with you to rise to the height of clouds? Inspiration for this shot is none other than digital artist and photographer: Robert Jahns (@nois7), and was brought together using 3 of my favorite "go to
"The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold." (Psalm 18:2)
"Let us draw near to God with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water." (Hebrews 10:22)
This photo was captured this past Monday while visiting Cumberland Gap National Park. It serves as a reminder for me that all of creation declares the splendor and majesty of God! The Lord wants us to see glimpses of His glory. He has created an incredibly beautiful and marvelously expanding univers
For the truth he consistently speaks, and for the passion he consistently shares, this shout out goes to a great friend and spiritual fighter. Although I'm a little late with this post, Happy Birthday Brenen! Your devotion to Jesus and dedication to His church inspires me. Keep running the race of f
"I will say of the Lord, 'He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him I will trust.'" (Psalm 91:2)
"He is the Rock, His works are perfect, and all His ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is He." (Deuteronomy 32:4)
As we pray for others to be sent we ought to also ask if God is calling us to go. It is good to remember, "The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest field." (Matthew 9:37-38) But we should also recall
Stumbling upon this mossy mess was surprisingly beautiful. It served as a reminder that the light of the Lord's countenance can fall upon the most unlikely places. We don't deserve His favor, but He still shines His face on us. That's why it's called grace.
I finally decided to drive the "dragon" today! It was my first time witnessing the scenic views that grace such a monumental road. Here's a shot of my friend Nathan that was captured at one of the pull-offs.
Eagle Falls || Corbin, KY "Deep calls unto deep at the noise of Your waterfalls..." (Psalm 42:7) "Whatever depths there are in God, they appeal to corresponding depths in us. And whatever the depths of our sorrow, desire, or necessity, there are correspondences in God from which full supplies may be
We ventured to Cookeville, TN with our college students from Calvary Knoxville to experience Cummins Falls this afternoon. Among the top 5 watering holes in the world, it was absolutely incredible to see! Here's a shot that doesn't begin to do it justice.
My friend Nathan added his creativity to this album by laying down some beautiful piano tracks! His skill at playing paired with the upright Yamaha that we used ended up producing a great sound. Super thankful for his help! #BYYOURGRACE
|| L I B E R T Y || Spent with friends and family in the beautiful state of Georgia, this has been a great Independence Day. I'm very grateful to celebrate the liberties we have in this country, knowing they have not come without sacrifice. "I believe our flag is more than just cloth and ink. It is
Here's a fun edit of my friend, Brad. This epic shot of him devouring a pop tart was snapped on top of Max Patch Mountain in South Carolina and edited using Union app and Mextures app for iPhone. Makes me really want a pop tart!
A 2-1 victory for the Braves over the Washington Nationals was a great way to start my Atlanta visit. I will always love this city and the people that occupy it. Thankful for the time to rest and recoup with family and friends this weekend. Memories will be made!
I was sad to part with Knoxville for the weekend, but leaving behind the weather wasn't so bad. Gloom for days... See you again on Monday, K-Town!
Here's another shot of yesterday's recording session with my brother. With so much God-ordained creativity, he placed his mark on this album. Extremely thankful for him and his help!
Songs for my first full length album are really taking shape. My brother, @mitchdamron, laid down some solid bass tracks this afternoon with our portable setup! I've enjoyed every minute of working on these God-given songs, whether in studios, sanctuaries or living rooms. Excited to share this proje
|| I L L U S I O N I S T || My bro is in K-Town for a couple days and I'm very happy to spend time with him. He immediately started performing tricks when he arrived. There will probably be more photos of him to come, but he will most likely have a bass guitar strapped to him. I give you the talente

This is my friend, Korey. It's been a month since he and his wife Krista visited this side of the country, and they are currently asking the Lord if He would have them move from their current home in Southern California to establish a new home in Eastern Tennessee. Although I greatly desire them to
|| A Y R E S ~ H A L L || It may have been a little hot and muggy, but it was still a gorgeous day in K-Town! God's grace was on display through His creation which I had the joy of experiencing at the University of Tennessee's monumental Ayres Hall. Such a neat facility.
Humble, wise, gracious, selfless, patient, content, disciplined, faithful, loving. These are only several of the many words that characterize my Dad. Throughout the years, he has continued to lead me by example in taking up his cross daily and following after Jesus. He has demonstrated the attitude
|| R E M A R K A B L E || The Ramsey Plantation is such a neat estate. I loved learning a bit about the heritage of this place and the ones who called it home.
|| C O T T A G E || Directly to the right of the Ramsey Plantation in Knoxville lies this peaceful little house. There were all sorts of great vibes today as we explored the plantation property and learned about the history.
|| T H R O W B A C K || Here's a phone pic I came across from last summer's Peru trip. These are four of the many orphans that I got to spend a week sharing the love of Jesus with in the mountain town of San Marcos. I'm almost certain that the Lord changed my life through them more than He changed t
|| S A N C T U A R Y || "So I have looked for You in the sanctuary, to see Your power and Your glory. Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise You." “You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and by Your will they exist and were created.” (‭Revelation‬ ‭4‬:‭11‬)
|| B E T W E E N || Lovely sunset this evening. This was taken while venturing up to the top of Look Rock Tower. One of my favorite spots to enjoy a great view!
"Where the trees grow tall and the streams flow free, I can hear Your voice calling out to me"
|| B E E T L E || I'm fascinated by older Voltzwagons. Sure, they look common. But they are so classic. Snapped a quick pick of this "baby blue" bug this morning.
|| P R O M I S E S || "The Cove" had it going on this morning. I'm amazed by the promises of the Lord that are fulfilled by the rising of the sun. Here's one of my favorites: "Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your
|| C A M P I N G || Our time on Max Patch Mountain was a success. By far the most beautiful camping experience I've ever had. Everywhere we looked, there were mountains and trees for miles. Nothing could be seen that was assembled by man, only the things created by God. I hope to return very soon!
|| U P P E R ~ L E V E L || This is the bridge that crosses the Cumberland River, only a few hundred yards from the waterfall I posted earlier. Love this place!
|| L I T T L E ~ N I A G R A || Located about an hour North of Knoxville, Cumberland Falls has become one of my favorite spots to breathe in the beauty of God. Often called the "Little Niagra" or the "Niagra of the South", the waterfall found on the Cumberland River is approximately 68ft tall and 12
|| G A Z E || This forest had us trapped in a gaze while venturing around Max Patch Mountain. All the leaves were so green and bursting with life. It was a beautiful place to see and explore!
|| C R E A T I V E || This is my buddy, @bradford_hartman. He brings glory to the Creator through his creativity. Instead of using his God given talents for selfish gain, he invests them where it truly counts... The Kingdom of Jesus! The reward is going to be great.
|| C O M I N G || One day the return of Jesus will come, ushering in the era of unending days. The beauty of days experienced now will never come close to the beauty of days experienced then.
“Great is Thy faithfulness Great is Thy faithfulness Morning by morning new mercies I see All I have needed Thy hand hath provided Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me"
|| C O N C L U S I O N || An unreal conclusion to the day took place as we watched the sun descend out of sight while standing on Max Patch Mountain in North Carolina. One of the most beautiful things my eyes have ever witnessed! It's been an incredible weekend, camping on "The Bald" with 9 of the b
|| S O J O U R N E R || Though we were born on earth, we were made for Heaven. By His own blood, Jesus has made a way for us to enter our eternal home. "For this world is not our permanent home; we are looking forward to a home yet to come." (Hebrews‬ ‭13‬:‭14‬)
