I imagine letting go of all socially constructed aspirations is like taking a huge bowel movement after being constipated for a decade.
"Have less, enjoy more" - I reckon that's summat meaningful to aspire to, innit?
I reckon you have to do the opposite of everything almost everyone else is doing, if ya wanna have peace & fulfilment, don't ya think?
I reckon a person who wants few material things, and has little desire for social status, is in a very fortunate and powerful place.
What if you had the lowest social status of anyone you knew, could you be happy and at peace in such a state?
Rather than aspiring to "reach our potential", how about learning to be content with as few external achievements as possible?
