Context: these #'s are high, but rumored #'s were even higher. (I heard guesses about a 20% cut.) Turner's trying to get out accurate info.
I don't know what departments/parts of CNN will be most severely affected. The 300 # includes CNN U.S., International, HLN, etc.
CNN will shed 8% of its workforce this fall -- that's 300 employees -- 130 buyouts, 170 layoffs, according to source.
